In 2022, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country will be 7.058 million and 6.887 million respectively, a year-on-year increase of 96.9% and 93.4% respectively. The production and sales rank first in the world for 8 consecutive years, and the industry has achieved rapid growth.
Driven by new energy vehicles, the terminal market demand for power batteries is strong. In 2022, the production and sales of power batteries will be 545.9GWh and 465.5GWh respectively, a year-on-year increase of 148.5% and 150.3% respectively. Among the top ten companies in the world, Chinese battery companies occupy 6 seats, accounting for more than 60% of the market share, and have cultivated industry unicorn companies such as CATL and BYD. The energy density of the ternary battery and lithium iron phosphate system has reached the world’s leading level. The key material industry chain is complete, and the aftermarket industry chain of power battery recycling, cascade utilization, and material regeneration is gradually improved.
While focusing on the highlights of the high-quality development of China’s power battery industry, the “Report” also conducted research on the need for continuous development of new energy vehicle policies, the need to strengthen the safety and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and the need to strengthen international cooperation on power batteries. .
In order to promote the higher-quality development of my country’s power battery industry, the “Report” also recommends building a safety assurance system for the entire life cycle of the power battery system, research on carbon footprint accounting methods and the establishment of an industry public service platform, and research on the intellectual property rights risks of power batteries and key materials Promote the standardization of power battery cell specifications and sizes, promote the establishment of a closed-loop system from recycling to recycling, and increase investment in lean and intelligent large-scale manufacturing technology and equipment.
